Rollup Helper Settings and Term Definitions

These terms are used throughout the documentation for Rollup Helper and may be a useful reference for when you review the material. You might also find it useful to consult the type support page to see the aggregation types supported by each data type.

 Term Definition
 Average, AVG
Averages all of the selected Child Records values for a Parent Record.
Child RecordThe record that looks up to a Parent Record. An example is an Opportunity tied to an  Account.  An Opportunity is considered the Child Record of the Account.
Count, CNTThe number of total Child Records for a Parent Record.
Detail PageA page in Salesforce that displays information about a parent record, including it's  related lists.
Disable Advanced  Currency If you are not using Advanced Currency Management in your organization, make sure this checkbox is selected.
Maximum, MAXThe greatest or highest value found across selected Child Record values for a Parent Record.
Max Concurrent  Batch Processes Limits the number of batch jobs Rollup Helper can run at the same time. Lower this setting if you are reaching the platform limit on the maximum number of batch jobs that can be run at once.
Max Concurrent  Future ProcessesLimits the number of ‘future’ processes Rollup Helper can run at the same time. Lower  this setting if you are reaching the platform limit on the maximum number of ‘future’  processes that can be run at once.
Minimum, MINThe least or smallest value found across selected Child Record values for a Parent Record.
Parent RecordA record that has the ability to be referenced from a child record.  May have zero to many Child  Records that reference a given Parent Record.
Real-timeThe frequency in which a Roll-up Summary Field recalculates itself. In general, real-time  means in  seconds.
Related ListA section of a Detail Page that has child records for a given record.
Rollups Per  Asynchronous  RequestRaising the setting, increasing the number of rollups that can be processed during a  given asynchronous request, should alleviate record lock issues. However, you may need  to reduce the setting if other issues are occurring (such as errors received due to hitting  an apex governor limit).
Record ScopeAdjusting this setting will raise or lower the number of rollups processed per  asynchronous rollup job. Lower this setting if rollups on an object that is being  processed asynchronously are triggering platform limit errors. Note that lowering this  setting will raise the number of requests required to complete the job.
Rollup Helper  AdminA user of the Rollup Helper application who views, creates, edits, or schedules Rollup Settings.
Rollup HelperA product that overcomes all the limitations of standard roll-up summary fields.
Rollup SettingA record saved for each configuration of the roll-up tied to each Target Field.
Roll-up  Summary    FieldA special type of field that displays a value that is an aggregation of a detail page's related  list  values. Also referred to in the Salesforce community as RSF.
Rollup Type The type of roll-up aggregation you are performing. With no additional Rollup Settings or formula  fields required, you can use the SUM, MAX, MIN, or CONCATENATE options in  the Rollup Helper  User Interface. With additional Rollup Settings or formula fields, Rollup Helper can also support COUNT and AVERAGE.
